The Department of Social Welfare and Development is in solidarity to raise awareness on Violence Against Woment and Children (VAWC), that we envision a violence-free community.
As of November 2017, we have a total of 37,250 VAWC Community Desk in 42,036 Barangays in the Phillipines, and the DSWD has 11 centers for women across the country.
This year (2018), DSWD ICTMS initiated a series of mapathons or mapping workshops, entitled MAPAbabae II, to map facilities that provide care and support for women and their children, against violence.
Through the VAWC Resources Map, we want to raise public awareness that these facilities exist. The map also serves as a tool that can be used by VAW victims and their families/friends to know where to go and who to call for help/
Together, we have mapped 242 facilities! But there are still lots to be mapped and added; it is a work in progress.
Help us map VAWC facilities and resources through MapContrib! Please read the instructions carefully.
